New Gateway RPA form

Following an extensive pilot-testing phase the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) has announced a new Risk Potential Assessment (RPA) for the Gateway Review Process. The new version replaces the old spreadsheet-based form which provided a score determining the appropriate level of Review (ie Low, Medium or High risk). As an OGC Authorised Hub for Gateway Review, we have adopted the new form for use in NI Gateways with immediate effect.

The new form represents a two stage approach based on completion of Table A and Table B. Table A addresses Consequential Impact across a range of higher level criteria. Table B provides a more detailed assessment divided into 4 sections and covering the following criteria:

• Strategic Profile;
• Delivery Challenge;
• Capacity & Capability; and
• Scale.

If a programme or project is assessed as 'Very Low' risk on completion of Table A then there is no need to complete Table B. In all other circumstances Table B must be completed.
