PPM Head of Profession
In line with the continuing rollout of the Skills Strategy for Government, the NICS has appointed the director of Central Procurement Division (CPD) as Head of Profession (HoP) for Programme & Project Management (PPM).
Des Armstrong Director of CPD occupies this position and as HoP for PPM will take a seat on the PPM Council. This body consists of HoPs from both Central and Devolved Government and is chaired by Nigel Smith, Chief Executive of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and Cross-Government HoP for PPM.

Stephen Peover (Permanent Secretary of DFP) has taken up the role of PPM Board Champion.
These are important developments for PPM in the public sector and the Central Procurement Directorate's Centre of Excellence (CoE/CPD) for Delivery will be working in tandem with the HoP to move the profession forward in line with strategic developments led by OGC.
