In Nov 2004, in partnership with Microsoft, Atos Origin and Dell, the e-Government unit launched a new Departmental Integration Server in Northern Ireland for connecting to the Government Gateway. The Government Gateway part of the UK Government's Common IT Infrastructure. It is one of a number of products built by the UK e-Government Unit www.gateway.gov.uk and is available to all NI central and local government departments. The Gateway has moved from Cabinet Office control to DWP and is currently being updated to take account of legislative changes and a greater demand for web services.
