Northern Ireland EU Competitiveness and Employment Programmes (2007-2013)

For the funding period 2007-2013 Northern Ireland will benefit from four EU Programmes:

European Union Structural Funds in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland faces unique opportunities and challenges over the period 2000-2006. The European Union has shown its commitment to helping Northern Ireland to meet those challenges which involve making significant transitions in the economic, social and political fields.
The European Council, agreed that for the period 2000-2006 Northern Ireland would receive support as an Objective 1, in Transition Region. The strategy through which the resulting Operational Programmes will be delivered is known as the Northern Ireland Community Support Framework (CSF).
The CSF's aim for the period 2000-2006 is to:-
"achieve a transition to a more peaceful, stable, prosperous, fair, and outward-looking society, sustained by a better physical environment"
The following types of funding are available under the CSF:
