Building Regulations Consultations
- The Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 - Consultation on proposed amendment of Part D (Structure) and Technical Booklet D and Part J (Solid waste in buildings). Consultation closing date - 20 May 2008.
- You can also access information about recent consultations that have closed but that have not yet resulted in new or amended legislation.
When conducting a public consultation, we follow the guidance set out in both the Cabinet Office’s “Code of Practice on Written Consultations” and in “A Practical Guide to Policy Making in Northern Ireland”, published by the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister.
Consultations normally will be open for a minimum period of 12 weeks. A longer period may be set for consultations that take place during holiday periods.
Copies of the consultation documents are sent to interested parties, and are also made freely available online or on request from our office. Notice of the consultation is also placed on the Consultation NI website, www.consultationni.gov.uk . All responses are acknowledged, collated, analysed and debated before finally being used to help formulate new or amended legislation.
