Review of the Operation of The Ground Rents Act (NI) 2001

The Civil Law Reform Division (CLRD) has now completed a review of the operation of the ground rents voluntary redemption scheme, which is provided for in the Ground Rents Act (Northern Ireland) 2001

A discussion paper was circulated to stakeholders in November 2005 and comments were invited by 28 February 2006. The paper set out the background to the Act and sought views on the operation of the ground rents voluntary redemption scheme.

CLRD has analysed the responses to the paper and have now published a short report which sets out the issues raised and outlines the proposed way forward.
