Northern Ireland Civil Service Reform and the future@work
The Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) is undergoing an unprecedented period of change and modernisation. The challenge for the NICS is to deliver excellent public services now and in the future. To meet this challenge, NICS is changing to harness technology, build skills and develop a way of working that fits with the modern and changing world.
A number of initiatives are currently underway as part of the NICS Reform Programme which will see change to NICS work practices, systems and processes, use of technology, the working environment, the organisational culture and citizen interfaces.

The future@work in NICS
future@work is an interactive facility which showcases NICS work practice developments and future technologies. Future@work combines all the elements of the NICS reform programme, giving the latest information on how reform is affecting staff and NICS departments. Staff can come along to explore the future and see first hand the changes taking place across the NICS. The facility is divided into five zones - office, home, beyond the office, future zone and a drop in zone.
