CoE for Delivery

The Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Delivery is part of the Central Procurement Directorate (CPD) in the Department of Finance & Personnel (DFP). The CPD/CoE was set up in January 2006 as part of the NICS response to a Whitehall initiative to Improve Programme & Project Delivery (IPPD). The unit took on responsibility for delivering the Gateway Review Process in NICS and the wider public sector. The CPD/CoE also provides policy and best practice advice, guidance, support and resources on Programme & Project Management (PPM) to stakeholders and practitioners.

CPD/CoE also works in partnership with the NICS Centre for Applied Learning (CAL) providing both subject-expert input and hands-on delivery of CAL's PPM learning & development programme.

CPD/CoE is currently :

  • providing localised delivery of the OGC Gateway Review Process as an official OGC Authorised Hub,
  • extending existing partnerships with the NICS PPM Community by establishing formal relationships with Portfolio/Programme/Project Offices (sub-hubs) as a single point of contact for CPD/CoE on PPM and Gateway matters;
  • working closely with the PPM Head of Profession (and in tandem with OGC) to establish a framework for a PPM Profession in the NICS; and
  • working with CAL to deliver core PPM learning & development and looking to expand this provision in support of the emerging needs of the PPM Comminuty
