Public Sector Energy Campaign

Aim of the Public Sector Energy Campaign

To promote the efficient use of energy by Northern Ireland Public Bodies, in line with Government targets for energy efficiency and the reduction of emissions to the atmosphere.

Government targets for Carbon Dioxide reduction

The main Government targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions are:
  • (Kyoto) 12.5% reduction in Carbon Dioxide by 2010
  • (National) 20% reduction in Carbon Dioxide by 2010
  • (National) 60% reduction in Carbon Dioxide by 2050
