Interview with future@work manager

futurework Development Manager, Leslie Smyth

Q&A with future@work manager Leslie Smyth

future@work is an interactive and information facility, to demonstrate the changes NICS is making to deliver better public services.

future@work Development Manager, Leslie Smyth, has shown many staff around the Clare House facility, so we asked her what the future at work is really all about:

What is future@work all about?

future@work brings together all the elements of NICS reform. Its aim is to let staff experience the new working methods in an interactive setting and to better understand how these can help them to deliver excellent public services.

Where is it?

The main facility is in Clare House, Belfast where it focuses on the changing working environment now and years into the future.

What can I see and do at future@work?

In a few words…you can see and try out the future at work.

Every future@work site has access to all of the new systems being introduced, like HRConnect and Account NI, and you can see what a modern, flexible, office looks like…the desk, chairs, storage.

But, you also get a chance at Clare House to see the technologies of the future and how these can make life at work quicker and easier. Things like video-conferencing with real-time document sharing, handheld mobile devices, digital pens, and demos on telephone access to emails and diaries….the possibilities are exciting.

How do I book a tour?
