The Superannuation Bill will amend the current provisions of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972. The amendments will remove the requirement for the Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) to obtain the consent of employee representatives before introducing detrimental changes to payments made to staff leaving the NICS on redundancy. The introduction of the Bill will position DFP to revise the existing terms of the Civil Service Compensation Scheme (Northern Ireland).
